Work and Improvements to our Marinas
It has been a strange 18-months for everyone, with office closures, lockdown restrictions and social distancing measures in place across the country. It has been a time of adaptation and determination, and our nine Marina and Boat Sales teams have faced these challenges head on.
Whilst our sites have been quieter than usual, the marina teams have taken the opportunity to upgrade the facilities to further enhance our berth holder and visitor experience.
Refurbishing offices and chandleries, building new fences, installing coal and log stores, landscaping and the installation of CCTV systems and more smart metres, are just a few of the upgrades that have been made.
The extension to Broadlands Marina in Lowestoft has also been completed and is now fully operational.
Our Boat Sales teams took a break from the water to set themselves up on dry land and tackle the online world of boat sales. With holidays abroad being cancelled and postponed, we have seen a huge increase of people now wanting to purchase boats ready for a summer on the water.
With a change of restrictions in our favour, over the past two-months, our Marina teams have put down their tools and have been welcoming back some familiar faces to our marinas.
Thames and Kennet Marina in Reading, saw the construction of a brand-new canopy to extend the restaurant facilities there. Only last week, this was put to full use at the welcome back event “Canapes under the Canopy”. Berth holders took full advantage of this fabulous outdoor space and the stunning views across the marina - the sun even made an appearance!
It is fantastic to see our Boat Sales offices in full swing and berth holders visiting and staying on their boats again. The teams are very much ready and are looking forward to a busy summer afloat.
We can’t thank our teams enough for all of their hard work and commitment during this past year.
