Today marks Global Recycling Day, and we’d like to take a moment to recognise the continued efforts across Tingdene Group, as well as thank everyone for their contribution so far.
Over the past year, we have supported the rollout of the government’s mandatory Simpler Recycling initiative for businesses. While adoption has varied across local authorities and contractors, Tingdene Group has taken a proactive approach. Through education, clear signage, and improved recycling facilities, we have supported our residents, visitors, property owners, and berth-holders in adapting to these changes. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this a success.
We also want to acknowledge the impact of individual efforts across our workplaces. It is often asked what difference one person can make, but collectively, we are seeing the results. Recycling rates across the Group remain strong, and at Head Office in particular, the volume of recycled and compostable materials has exceeded expectations. This has led to a significant reduction in non-recyclable waste sent to landfill. Thank you to everyone contributing to this positive change.
For those interested in learning more about how recycling supports a sustainable environment, there are a range of resources available online to mark Global Recycling Day. You may also find the Waste Hierarchy a helpful guide to understanding the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
Finally, thank you to our Sustainability Team for their ongoing dedication: Sophie Green, Megan Alabaster, Bernadette Owens, Rachel Tipping, and Andy Dixon.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or green ideas, please feel free to reach out to any member of the team.
Happy Global Recycling Day!
