Upton Marina has officially become the first marina on the River Severn to achieve TYHA Clean Marina accreditation which is a brilliant milestone and another proud moment for all of us at Tingdene Group.

Following in the footsteps of Racecourse Marina Windsor, this achievement highlights what can be accomplished when teamwork, commitment and environmental responsibility come together.

Clean Marina status is a well-deserved recognition of the dedication and hard work shown by the Upton Marina team. Over recent months, they have made meaningful improvements across the marina, from strengthening waste management processes and emergency planning to embedding greater environmental awareness into day-to-day operations.

This success was further celebrated during a recent visit to Upton Marina by our Group Executive Chair, Ian Collier and Tingdene Marinas Director, Steve Arber, alongside Dame Harriett Baldwin MP, who joined the team on site to mark the occasion and explore the marina’s continued development.

The visit marked an important opportunity to formally present the Clean Marina accreditation certificate to the team, while also celebrating English Tourism Week and highlighting the valuable contribution tourism makes to the local economy, particularly through the marina’s unique floating accommodation offering.

Discussions also focused on the marina’s role within the wider community, including how we can continue to support local initiatives and contribute to important priorities such as flood defence in the area.

Jamieson Harris, our Marina Manager at Upton Marina, said:

“This is a brilliant achievement for the marina and a real credit to the team. Everyone has contributed, and being the first marina on the River Severn to gain Clean Marina accreditation makes it a milestone we can all be proud of.”

With two marinas now Clean Marina accredited, we are continuing to build momentum across our network and take positive, practical steps towards our wider sustainability goals.

We would like to give a special shout out to the brilliant team behind this achievement:

  • Jamieson Harris – General Manager

  • Maria Syngouni – Assistant Manager

  • Matthew Bragg – Maintenance and Estate Assistant

  • Joe Bennett-Jones – Maintenance and Estate Assistant

  • John Lambert – Maintenance and Estate Assistant

A huge well done and thank you to everyone involved in making this happen. This is a fantastic achievement, a great example of Tingdene Values in action, and another reminder that collective effort really does make a difference.
