AI can be a valuable tool for supporting productivity, helping with tasks such as drafting communications, summarising information and carrying out research, but it's important that we all understand how to use it appropriately and securely.
The policy provides clear guidance on what AI can and cannot be used for, helping to protect our business, our customers, our team members and the information we hold. It also sets out our responsibilities around data protection, confidentiality and the accuracy of any AI-generated content. Whilst AI can support our work, it does not replace professional judgement, and team members remain accountable for anything they produce using AI assistance.
For team members, this means you can continue to benefit from approved AI tools when carrying out your role, provided they are used in line with the policy and with appropriate care. The policy also explains where to seek guidance if you're unsure about using AI and outlines the approval process for any new tools.
