We wish to share an important update regarding Tingdene Group’s leadership and C-Suite Executive Team, effective 2 March 2026.
After six years as Group Managing Director and more than 30 years of dedicated service, Ian Collier will transition to the role of Group Executive Chair, focusing on Group level strategy, governance, and supporting the next phase of Tingdene’s growth. Ian’s impact on Tingdene has been significant; his experience, insight, and steady guidance have been important in our success, and we are pleased that he will continue to shape the long-term direction of the Group in this senior leadership capacity.
Ethan Zone, currently Strategy Director, will be appointed CEO and Managing Director of Tingdene Group. Ethan will lead the business into its next phase of growth, building on the strong foundations established over many years.
As many of you know, Ethan is son of our founder, Matthew Gibbard. Ethan joined Tingdene Group in February 2020 and since then has held several key roles across the organisation, including shaping Group Strategy, establishing Waterfront Living, driving modernisation and digital initiatives, and contributing to our expansion from 40 to 55 sites across the UK, including our first presence in Scotland.
Andy Dixon continues in the role of CFO, providing continuity and stability across the business’s financial leadership.

“From those first conversations in August 2019 about potentially joining the family business, I could never have imagined how quickly all our paths would change, and the timing of my involvement. I feel extremely proud to continue Matthew’s legacy and to take on the role of CEO at Tingdene Group, continuing the family ties.
Despite economic and industry challenges, our performance, growth, and achievements over the last six years reflect the strong foundations built by Matthew and the skill, dedication, and resilience shown by our leadership team and the entire Tingdene family. This gives us a fantastic platform from which to continue growing, modernising our operations, and strengthening our position as one unified Tingdene Group across our residential, holiday, and marine assets.
Following a period of significant expansion across the UK, our focus going forward will remain firmly on delivering a community and customer experience we are known for, while pursuing sustainable growth in both existing and new markets.
I want to personally thank Ian for everything he has contributed to date and will continue to contribute to Tingdene Group going forward. Ian has helped guide the business with purpose, compassion, and integrity through both opportunities and challenges. He supported Matthew from the very beginning, and through that journey has become a trusted mentor, friend, and colleague to me and many others across the business.
