In answer to the first question, our mission statement has been developed to communicate our purpose and define our expectations for our business direction. This simple statement sets out what we are doing and provides clarity and focus for the decisions we all make.
Why are we introducing core values?
Core values are nothing new. As part of us defining our core values, in 2024 we engaged with our teams from across the business via questionnaire, employee feedback surveys and discussion forums to provide an opportunity for everyone to have a voice in what values resonate in daily operations and what Tingdene Group means to them. The most powerful values are not created by senior management or leadership and delivered by powerpoint, they are what our teams feel, see and deliver almost subconsciously on a day-to-day basis.
As such, we believe that our core values should be based on real life and real experiences and hence this is not something new, this is based on the direct feedback we have received and what values are important to you so that we can highlight and celebrate those behaviours within Tingdene Group.
Why do we need them?
As our business grows, we appreciate the identity and culture of our business comes from various sources internally and externally. By having core values, these values sit as a foundation for our expectations and interactions with our colleagues, customers and stakeholders helping to guide decision-making of the business and empowering our teams to undertake and follow through on those values, holding each other to account to create a cohesive and positive workplace that supports our broader mission statement for Tingdene Group.
What do they mean?
Over the coming months, we’ll be shining a spotlight on each of our values. Each update will explore what the value means, how you can use them to guide your actions and how they come to life and impact our business.
Please remember, whilst each core value has a tag line attached to it based on the feedback received and an amalgamation of responses, we know and understand that the word itself may mean something different and individual to each person.
The key aspect is that they mean something to everyone, and we are shaping the business together.
