On Thursday 14th May, Badgerwood Residential Park hosted a fantastic ‘1km Walk the Park’ initiative, bringing residents, sales executive and colleagues together for a simple but powerful cause; tackling loneliness amongst the elderly.
The event, delivered in partnership with our charity partner Marmalade Trust, encouraged those on the park to take part in a relaxed and inclusive ‘at your own pace’ walk, with the excitement of ice creams at the finish line! More than just a walk, the day focused on creating meaningful interactions, an opportunity to meet your neighbours and a show of community spirit.
It was wonderful to see residents and colleagues come together to talk, enjoy the fresh air and support one another.
One resident shared the importance of charities like Marmalade Trust, explaining that they are aware of people who live alone on the park and initiatives like these are essential and can make a real lasting difference.
It was also highlighted by those in attendance how enjoyable it was to meet Tingdene representatives face to face, talk about park impacts and upcoming development. This made the day feel even more personal and inclusive.
Following the walk, everyone gathered to enjoy refreshments from the ice cream van, providing the perfect opportunity to continue conversations and celebrate a successful event in a relaxed and social setting.
This initiative forms part of our ongoing commitment, alongside Marmalade Trust, to help raise awareness of loneliness and support stronger, more connected communities across our parks.
A big thank you to those who helped organise and support the day, and to all residents at Badgerwood Park who took part and made the event such a success.
From group moments to candid conversations and the beautiful park surroundings, the photos truly reflect the spirit of the day - connection, community and shared experience.
Together, we continue to make a meaningful difference, one step, one conversation at a time.
