At Tingdene Group, Mental Health Awareness Week is more than a calendar event, it's a meaningful opportunity to come together, reflect, and support one another. This year’s theme is Community, which is a theme that resonates deeply with us at Tingdene Group.
Mental health isn’t something we face alone. It’s shaped by the people around us and by the connections we build, the conversations we have, and the care we show one another. At Tingdene Group, we’re proud to be part of a workplace where those connections matter every day.
Why Community Matters
When we talk about community in the context of mental health, we’re talking about human connection which is something we all need. It’s about feeling part of something bigger than ourselves, knowing that we’re supported, and knowing that we matter.
Loneliness and isolation are some of the biggest threats to our mental wellbeing. Strong social ties, whether at work, at home, or in our wider circles, are proven to reduce stress, improve resilience, and even support physical health.
So, this week is an opportunity to reflect:
Have I checked in with my friends or colleagues. Ask the question, ‘are you ok’?
Make an effort to talk to or have lunch with someone new.
Think about who you turn to when you are having a tough day.
What small steps can you take to strengthen your support system, or someone else’s?
Community at the heart of Tingdene Group
We believe community isn’t just something you say, it’s something you build on and work on every day with those around you to build a better environment and work place for all. This is why “Community” features as one of our Company Core Values - we strive to build communities not just for our customers but within our team members too.
As you can see from the photos below, our communities come together for a variety of reasons including: our end of year parties, charity events, fitness challenges, team socials, lunches, celebrations and event open days. These events allow all of our team members to widen their own community, and hopefully make some lasting relationships in the process!
Mental Health Awareness Week is not about grand gestures, but rather the small, everyday acts of care that make the biggest difference.
This week, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on your own wellbeing, check in with a colleague, or simply take a step back and breathe.
